Our immune systems do an amazing job of keeping us healthy by defending our bodies against disease-causing microorganisms, including viruses. For it to function well we need to do some basic things:
Eat nutritious food, including more fruits and vegetables
Drink plenty of water
Be active every day - play outside or walk to school
Get enough sleep: Children need 10-12 hours every day
Avoid illness by washing your hands frequently
Manage stress - by getting enough sleep, daily exercise and deep breathing -- simply breathing in slowly for a count of four and out slowly for a count of four can slow things down and create a sense of calm.
Protect your health by keeping your immune system strong because prevention can be the best medicine.
