Attend Redwood City School District's (RCSD) Award-Winning Schools and Programs(Español)
Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area's mid-Peninsula, RCSD schools offer innovative, integrative, and interactive approaches to learning, ensuring that your child receives a high-quality education to be well-prepared for high school, college, and careers.
Registration is the first step to enroll in RCSD. Whether you live within the attendance zone of the Redwood City School District or you live in a neighboring district looking to attend one of RCSD's many award-winning innovative programs and schools, you must begin by completing a registration form to provide the district with the information needed to enroll your child.Please note that if you want your child to attend a different school than your assigned neighborhood school, or you are applying from outside the district, you must also fill out a Schools of Choice Transfer Application after you fill out the School Registration Forms.
How to Register to Register for Redwood City School District:Prospective families have the opportunity to register online, a process which typically begins in the fall and ends at the end of June. If you need to enroll your child for the current school year, we invite you to please visit the District Office, 750 Bradford St., Redwood City, to register in person.Please bring:
* Student’s birth certificate
* Student’s immunization record
* Parent or guardian picture ID
* Proof of address (two different documents are needed)
Please Note: Students who register during the summer are only temporarily enrolled in their neighborhood school for the first 10 days of the school year, and may be moved if the principal and superintendent determine there are not enough seats available at your child’s grade level. Neighborhood students have priority based on space available at the time they register. If space is not available at the neighborhood school, students will be placed at a different school until space becomes available at their neighborhood school. Students are enrolled in the order in which they register.How to Apply to Transfer to a Different SchoolIf you want to transfer to a school other than your assigned neighborhood school, please fill out Schools of Choice Transfer Application, also available at the District Office, after completing your registration form. Students applying for Schools of Choice transfers are placed in the order in which they apply.*Order of Enrollment for Neighborhood Schools
1.Students are guaranteed placement in their neighborhood school if space is available at the time they register.
2.Students are enrolled in the order in which they register.
3.If the neighborhood school does not have space at the time of enrollment, students are assigned to another school.
If students want to attend a neighborhood school outside of their residence area, they must submit an online Schools of Choice/Transfer Application.*Twins will be placed together, according to the priority above. Twins who are assigned a random eligibility number will be placed according to the number of the twin with the highest place on the waiting list.
