Three Seats Open on District Measure U Citizens Oversight Committee


Redwood City School District (RCSD) seeks applicants for three vacant seats in the Measure U Citizens Oversight Committee membership. 

The purpose of the Measure U Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) is to inform the public at least annually in a written report concerning the expenditure of the parcel tax proceeds. The COC is required to actively review expenditure reports produced by RCSD to ensure that parcel tax proceeds are expended only for the purposes set forth in the Measure U ballot measure.

The committee as a whole is comprised of three (3) parents/guardians of students currently attending an RCSD school, three (3) community members who do not currently have children enrolled in the district, and one (1) local business owner. The seven-member committee meets at least two times every calendar year. 

An applicant must reside within the RCSD attendance zone and must not be an employee, contractor, consultant, or vendor of the school district. The district is seeking to fill three seats in the following categories:

  • Parent / Guardian of student currently in the District: 2-year Term

  • Parent / Guardian of student currently in the District: 3-year Term

  • Local Business Owner: 2-year Term
