The Last School Bell Rings for 2023 Retirees

As the Class of 2023 turns the tassel and the graduates are set to start their high school careers, 21 professionals who saw them grow and learn are marking the end of their professional careers in education with Redwood City School District (RCSD).

Superintendent Baker and the RCSD Board of Trustees thanked the individuals during a reception held in their honor on Thursday, June 1.

“Thank you for your years of service to our students. You have shaped the future in the sense that you taught, guided, and helped many young minds become the leaders that they are today. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement,” said Superintendent Dr. John Baker.

The 21 retirees dedicated a collective 408 years of service in the classroom, the cafeteria, the school office, around the school campus, the District Office, and the Office of the Superintendent. Two of this year’s retirees dedicated 30 or more years to RCSD while the majority, nine educators, devoted more than two decades to the district’s students.
