RCSD Launches Digital Campaign to Celebrate and Thank TeamRCSD

Every springtime, school communities across the nation celebrate designated days for employee groups who serve children in public schools. This school year, Redwood City School District (RCSD) invites its community to help the District celebrate the collaborative efforts of all members of TeamRCSD, acknowledging their hard work in serving students and families through the challenges experienced in the last two years.

“The last two years have been unlike any other in recent history--challenging, full of obstacles that tested our resilience and strength,” explains Superintendent Dr. John Baker. “Despite these volatile times, we managed to reinvent school teaching our students at home, launching our distance learning initiative, safely reopening schools, and implementing a plethora of new protocols to keep everyone safe on campus. As demanding as the last two years have been for all students, families, and employees, I am reminded of the devoted team members with whom I am fortunate to serve. This spring, I ask that you join me in thanking the employees of our school district for their service and compassion for all RCSD students and their families.”

In highlighting the work of TeamRCSD in the last two years, the district has launched a digital communications initiative to celebrate and thank all members of TeamRCSD for their efforts. Members of the RCSD community can visit the following community boards, in either English or Spanish, to write messages of appreciation:

Members of the RCSD community are invited to share their stories--thanking their child’s school or individual employees for the service provided in the last two years. Students, their families, employees, and community members can use the community boards to express their appreciation to teachers, bus drivers, school assistant principals and principals, custodians, child nutrition professionals, librarians, instructional assistants, counselors, psychologists, maintenance staff, and the many other support staff members who have had a positive impact on them. In commenting on the community board, the district asks contributors to specify the name of the employee, which will help communications staff with delivering the message to the employee in a digital format. The community board will close the last day of school on June 9, 2022.

In addition, community members who follow RCSD on social media platforms will experience a campaign of social media posts celebrating employee groups on designated days. The RCSD community is invited to celebrate and comment thanking employees using #TeamRCSD on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn and #EquipoRCSD on Facebook en español.
