Students are ready to “cheese the day” with Child Nutrition Services’ (CNS) fresh and tasty pizzas using high-quality ingredients.

CNS uses a blend of lower protein flours from Central Milling in Petaluma, making the crust easily digestible for small stomachs. The marinara sauce, sourced from DiNapoli Tomato Products in Sacramento Valley, is flavor packed with just the right acidity balance.

And last but not least, CNS chefs sprinkle the top with Bacio premium Mozzarella pizza cheese, which includes a kiss of buffalo milk adding rich flavor.

Or as one Kindergarten exclaimed, wrapping up what he loves most about the meal, “The cheese, sauce, and pepperoni!” A 3rd Grade student added, “The flavors are really good!

Staff training means the pizza is cooked to perfection and cut fast meaning students have more time to sit and enjoy their food with friends.

Aspiring to transform the cafeteria experience, RCSD Child Nutrition Services cafés are expanding  menus with nutrient-rich, seasonal, and fresh ingredients, building  community-oriented space for students to enjoy meals, and further training staff to deliver culinary excellence.
