Orion Alternative’s National Chinese Language Conference (NCLC) school tour hosted in May was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of 30 dedicated hosts.
The NCLC tour saw leaders from various schools commend RCSD’s Mandarin Immersion Program’s excellence, instructional quality, and strong family engagement.
The NCLC tour included leaders, teachers, and staff from private, public, and charter schools and programs, many of whom visited Mandarin Immersion six years ago.

English Language Learner progress moved to “green” according to the California Dashboard, as measured by The English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC).
The first phase of installations will begin this summer at Adelante Selby, Hoover, Roosevelt, and Taft, as these schools require fewer structural and electrical modifications. The remaining campuses will receive upgrades in subsequent phases until every school is equipped with a modern HVAC system.
