More than 700 8th Graders Make Up Redwood City’s Class of 2022

The excitement for graduation season is building throughout Redwood City School District (RCSD) as more than 700 graduates are scheduled to walk in-person across the stage and receive their diplomas. The 762 Dolphins, Gators, Huskies, Cougars, Bulldogs, Gryphons, Raccoons, and Thunderbolts will complete their PreK-8 academic careers in early June after experiencing extraordinary challenges during their middle school years.

“Kudos to our graduates for hanging in there and successfully making it to the finish line!” said Superintendent Dr. John Baker speaking about the challenges graduates faced due to COVID-19. “I don’t believe there has been another generation in recent history that has faced the volatility our students have endured. I admire their perseverance and hard-work during the lockdown, distance learning, and coming back to school only to adjust to a number of new protocols as we worked to keep them safe. I applaud them for the many enormous obstacles they overcame and I thank them for allowing us to be their teachers.”
