Calling All Volunteers! Seats Open on School Modernization Oversight Committee

Do you have an interest in Redwood City School District (RCSD) providing modernized learning spaces to its students? The school district is currently looking for volunteers to sit on the committee that oversees exactly that--the Measure T Citizens Bond Oversight Committee.

The purpose of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) is to inform the public concerning the expenditure of bond proceeds. The CBOC is required by state law to actively review and report on the proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money for school modernization and construction.

Five of nine seats will become vacant this summer. The five vacancies are in the following categories:

  • One member shall be active in a business organization representing the business community located with the school district

  • One member shall be active in a senior citizens' organization

  • One member shall be active in a bona fide taxpayers' organization

  • One member shall be BOTH a parent or guardian of at least one child currently enrolled in the District, and be an active member in a District Parent-Teacher organization, such as the PTA/PTO or school site council.

  • One member shall be a parent or guardian of at least one child currently enrolled in a RCSD school

An applicant must reside within Redwood City School District (RCSD) and must not be an employee, contractor, consultant, or vendor of the school district. The successful applicant will serve a two-year or three-year term that will extend from the date of appointment in 2022.

Individuals interested in serving can apply by filling out this application. All applications should be completed by the end of the day on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
