May 2025 Taft Modernization and Construction Update

Taft Community School is the next site scheduled to receive energy-efficient lighting upgrades as part of the Redwood City School District’s ongoing Measure S Lighting Retrofit Project.

Work is slated to begin during the first full week of May and is expected to be completed within two weeks. To ensure the safety of students and staff and minimize any disruption to the school day, all construction will take place after student dismissal.

A planning meeting has been scheduled with the principal to review the project timeline, confirm site access and logistics, and align on expectations for the work ahead. The upcoming lighting retrofit will replace outdated fixtures with modern, energy-efficient alternatives—improving visibility, reducing long-term energy costs, and enhancing the overall campus environment.

This project is part of a broader districtwide effort to modernize school facilities through Measure S, with a focus on sustainability, safety, and student well-being.
