Engage with the Superintendent

Brown Bag with the Superintendent
Parents with children enrolled in Redwood City School District (RCSD) have the good fortune of knowing their schools well as they interact with their child's teachers and principals and they receive daily correspondence from the school district. However, all community members benefit from the success of their local public schools.
Community members without school-aged children should be informed about their local public schools because the quality of education directly impacts property values, economic development, and overall community well-being. Strong public schools attract families to the area, bolster economic opportunities, and serve as hubs for social cohesion. Additionally, an educated future workforce benefits all members of the community, regardless of whether they have children currently attending school. Therefore, staying engaged with local education issues ensures that community members can contribute to building thriving and inclusive communities that support the success of all residents.
Superintendent Dr. John Baker invites community members to Brown Bag with the Superintendent--a monthly opportunity to learn more about your local public schools while enjoying the same nutritious meals the school cafeteria serves every day to students.

The Superintendent's Newsletter is a monthly digital publication directly from the desk of Superintendent Dr. John Baker. The newsletter includes the Superintendent's update to the RCSD community as well as the latest stories and initiatives from the district.
All parents and staff receive the Superintendent's newsletter. Community members are invited to sign up below. Produced by the Department of communications and Community Engagement, the newsletter is available in English and español.
