Special Education

The Redwood City Special Education Department works cooperatively with students, families and the community to ensure that each student attains academic success and develops socially and emotionally. Our instructors work with preschool–8th grade students individually or in small groups to emphasize the development of language, cognition, social, academic, behavioral, and self-help skills. We recognize that students have various abilities, and we address each student's needs from within a developmentally appropriate framework based on state standards. Our goal is to enable students to grow into valued, independent members of their communities, and to prepare them for life-long learning in their future endeavors.
