2017 History - Social Science Adoption 

The California State Board of Education (SBE) has scheduled a History–Social Science Instructional Materials Adoption for 2017. This adoption will consider publisher submissions for instructional materials programs designed for kindergarten through grade eight. Final SBE consideration of submitted programs will occur in November 2017. A list of submitted programs is available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/hs/im/hsssubmittedprograms.asp

On April 26, 2017 the Redwood City School District adopted the following Program 2 Basic English Language Arts programs:

The Redwood City School District will be piloting English Language Arts programs in 2016-17.

The programs selected by the Redwood City School District Adoption Committees were adopted by the State Board of Education on November 4, 2015.

ELEMENTARY:

Benchmark Education Company, Benchmark Advance and Benchmark Adelante, Grades Kindergarten through 5

McGraw-Hill School Education, Reading Wonders and Lectura Maravillas, Grades Kindergarten through 5

MIDDLE SCHOOL: 

McGraw-Hill School Education, StudySync CA Edition, Grades 6 through 8

Amplify Education, Inc., Amplify ELA: California Edition, Grades 6 through 8 

The program materials listed above are available for public comment and review at the Instructional Materials Center located at 777 Third Avenue, Redwood City, CA 94063.


MATHEMATICS ADOPTION FOR GRADES 6 THROUGH 8 
On June 7, 2016 the Redwood City School District adopted the following Mathematics program:

CPM College Preparatory Mathematics Educational Program: Core Connections, Courses 1-3 ©2013 for 6th through 8th grades.

PRIMARY MATH ADOPTION GRADES K THROUGH 5

The Redwood City School District adopted enVision MATH Common Core 2015.

2015 HISTORY-SOCIAL SCIENCE FRAMEWORK UPDATE

The Instructional Quality Commission approved the Draft History-Social Science Framework for California Public Schools for field review on September 18, 2014.

2015 ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS/ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT ADOPTION

ELA/ELD Programs adopted by the California State Board of Education on November 4, 2015 are organized into five program types Basic ELA, Basic ELA/ELD, Basic Biliteracy, Intensive Intervention, and Specialized ELD.

COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS

2016 REVISION OF THE SCIENCE FRAMEWORK

The Instructional Quality Commission approved the Draft Science Framework for California Public Schools. The dates for the first 60-Day public review period are from November 17, 2015 through January 19, 2016.
