Welcome to the Family Center
Supporting the Whole Child, One Family at a Time
At the heart of this school community, the Family Center is a welcoming space where families can find support, guidance, and connection. Whether the family is navigating the school district, seeking community resources, or looking for help during a challenging time, the Family Center is here for you. Rooted in partnership, equity, and trust, the Family Center works closely with students, families, and school staff to ensure every child can thrive—both in the classroom and beyond.
Below are the core services offered through the Family Center. Support may look different for each family, but the goal is always the same: to help create stability, opportunity, and well-being for all.
Academic and School-Related Support
The Family Center helps families engage in their child’s learning by offering academic guidance, school information, and connections to programs that support student success. Staff can assist with understanding report cards, accessing online learning tools, or connecting families with tutoring and enrichment opportunities. Support is also available for attendance challenges, school transitions, and other academic concerns that may arise throughout the year.
Extended Day Learning Opportunities Program Information
Families can receive up-to-date information about after school programs available on campus and in the surrounding community. Staff can assist with enrollment forms, eligibility questions, and schedules. These programs offer a safe and enriching environment for students to continue learning and exploring after the school day ends.
Parent Education Workshops
Throughout the school year, the Family Center offers workshops and resources for parents and caregivers on topics such as positive discipline, effective communication, digital safety, navigating the school district, and supporting learning at home. These sessions create space for families to learn, connect with other parents, and strengthen the home-school partnership.
Emotional and Mental Health Support
The Family Center can connect students and families with counseling services and mental health resources. Whether a student is struggling with stress, grief, or anxiety—or a family is in need of support during a difficult transition—the Family Center helps identify appropriate services and coordinate referrals. Staff work in close collaboration with school counselors, social workers, and community partners to provide wraparound care.
Crisis Intervention
In moments of immediate need—such as the loss of housing, income, or safety—the Family Center is a critical first stop for accessing urgent support. Staff can help families navigate emergency resources and partner with local organizations to provide short-term relief while developing a longer-term support plan.
Food Access and Nutrition Resources
The Family Center coordinates food distribution events on campus, often in partnership with Second Harvest and other community providers. Families can access fresh produce, pantry staples, and other food items on a regular basis. Information about additional food programs in the community, including hot meal services and food pantries, is also available.

Help with Forms and Applications

Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance
The Family Center provides information and referral support for families seeking health insurance, including Medi-Cal, Covered California, and Healthy Kids. Although enrollment no longer takes place directly at the school, staff can guide families to trusted enrollment partners, such as the Fair Oaks Community Center.
Pediatric and Adult Medical and Dental Resources
Families can receive information or provide assistance with paperwork related to local low-cost or free clinics that offer pediatric and adult medical and dental services. These clinics welcome new patients and provide sliding scale options for families without insurance. The Family Center works closely with trusted providers to ensure students have access to regular health care and preventative services.
The Family Center is more than a service hub—it’s a place of connection, care, and community. Whether you are new to the school or have been part of this community for years, the Family Center is here to walk alongside you. Visit us anytime to learn more, ask questions, or simply say hello.
