Michelle Griffith | Director of Community Schools and Partnerships
Michelle Griffith is a dedicated educator who has devoted her entire adult life to the education and well-being of Redwood City children. With a career spanning more than three decades in the Redwood City School District (RCSD), she currently serves as the Director of Community Schools and Partnerships.In her current capacity, Ms. Griffith plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the school district and the broader community. By partnering with community organizations, Ms. Griffith and her staff work to broaden the educational scope of learning for students by extending the school day offering the following services with a focus on the whole child:

Before and after school programs beyond the traditional extracurricular and athletic programs;

Health and wellness support;

Links to community resources; and

Learning opportunities for family and community members.
Ms. Griffith’s journey in education began as an after-school counselor, where she quickly discovered her passion for working with children. Over the years, she has taken on various roles, including director for YMCA youth programs, classroom teacher, staff development/resource teacher, assistant principal, and principal. This diverse experience has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape, from the frontlines of the classroom to leadership positions shaping the broader educational environment.
Her commitment to RCSD has been unwavering throughout her entire career. Michelle’s love for her work is reflected in her continuous dedication to the students, families, and staff within the district. She finds inspiration in the vibrant community she serves and remains deeply connected to the mission of fostering a nurturing and enriching educational environment.

- Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts--San Jose State University

Master’s degree in Education Administration--San Francisco State University
In addition, Ms. Griffith also holds her teaching and administrative credentials.
She has also undergone extensive training and gained valuable experience in the realm of equity. This focus highlights her commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment where every RCSD student has the opportunity to thrive.
