Measure U Parcel Tax
Measure U: Preserving Local Funding to Support Strong Education
Since 2012, Redwood City residents have supported local schools through a voter-approved education parcel tax to help continue funding strong academic programs and classroom instruction.
Redwood City School District (RCSD) offers innovative, integrative, and interactive approaches to learning, ensuring that ALL students will be well prepared for high school, college, and careers.
On November 8, 2016, voters approved the Measure U Educational Parcel Tax assessment of $85 per parcel per year. These Parcel Tax funds help RCSD continue enhancing mathematics, science, reading and writing skills in all RCSD classrooms; to attract and retain highly-qualified teachers; to continue enhancing quality arts and music programs, and to update instructional technology and classroom computers.
Measure U’s renewal of RCSD’s educational parcel tax provides approximately $1.9 million per year in local education funding that is locally controlled.
