I heard all school meals free for students this year, is this true? Yes! All TK-8 grade students may eat school breakfast ,which is offered at recess, and school lunch for free of charge thanks to California’s Universal Free Meal law, AB 130

Do I need to file out a meal application in order for my student to receive a free meal? No, a meal application does not need to completed. However, for district funding purposes, the district must collect socioeconomic data. The district askes that households complete a Student Benefit Form. This form is emailed to the email address on file with the district.

How does my student pick up a school breakfast or lunch? At most schools all your students need to do is go to the cafeteria at recess and pick up breakfast and go to the cafeteria at lunch and pick up lunch. However, if your student attends Clifford, North Star, Orion, or Roy Cloud they will need either a meal card or their student ID. They enter their student ID at the end of the meal serving line.

My student has special dietary needs. Can these special diet needs be accommodated? Child Nutrition Services is happy to accommodate special dietary needs, within reason. Please complete this form: Request for Special Meal Accommodation and email the completed form to arodriguez2@rcsdk8.net or drop it off at your students school cafeteria.

Is chocolate milk offered at lunch? Chocolate milk is offered during lunch, once a month, on the last school day of the month.

How accurate is the menu that is available online? CNS makes a strong effort to make sure the online menu is correct. At times last minute changes are made due to staff issues or product shortages.
