Repairing and Modernizing Our Schools: A Community Investment in Student Success
Redwood City School District (RCD) is committed to creating safe, modern, and flexible learning environments that meet the needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders. Many of our school facilities are over 50 years old and in need of updates to support 21st-century learning and comply with current safety standards. Through a phased approach to school modernization—beginning with Measure T and now continuing with Measure S—we are transforming classrooms, labs, and campuses across the district. We are deeply grateful to our local voters for their strong support, which has made these improvements possible.
Why this Matters:
The quality of school facilities directly affects how students learn, how teachers teach, and how safe everyone feels on campus. Outdated buildings can limit access to technology, restrict collaboration, and fail to meet basic health and safety standards. By repairing and modernizing our schools, we are not only improving the physical environment, but also expanding opportunities for innovation, engagement, and equity—ensuring every student has the tools and space to learn, work, and thrive.
