California State Preschool Program

How do I Enroll My Child?

Applying to our preschools is now easier than ever! Simply click on the links below to get started.

Redwood City School District (RCSD) provides high quality state preschool services at free or low cost to prepare all children for success in school and life.

The preschool program forms the foundation for later life learning in all domains of development, including socio-emotional, language, literacy, and mathematics. Children who are 3-4 years old develop the skills to interact well with others, in a continuous process of critical thinking and problem solving on challenges presented by a shared environment with adult professionals and children of varying ages and abilities. They also gain foundational knowledge on a wide range of academic vocabulary, literary styles, and scientific processes crucial to later school achievement in all subject areas.

Offering a 1:8 teacher-student ratio and flexibility to parents, the preschool program is available in part-day and full-day services at seven of the district’s sites.

  • Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School
  • Garfield Community School
  • Hawes Elementary School
  • Hoover Community School
  • Orion Alternative Elementary School
  • Roosevelt School
  • Taft Community School
