During the last thirty years, I have worked with a diverse cross section of students, parents and community members building partnerships to plan, interpret and implement the state approved curriculum.  My proficiency is in advocacy for students and in linking students to available resources in order to establish and enrich an appropriate learning environment.  As an educator I possess strong communication and problem solving skills, coupled with the ability to build positive, solid relationships with staff, students, parents and community members.  During my tenure as a Special Day Class teacher, Resource Specialist, Literacy Coordinator and as a principal in Redwood City, I have demonstrated a strong advocacy for children in conjunction with working as a team member with staff and parents.  As a team, we collaborate and develop proactive plans that support students in realizing their potential.

On a personal note,  I lost my husband of thirty-six years, John Griffiths, in January of 2011. While we had no children of our own, I like to think that I have around 400 at Henry Ford.  My passion outside of education continues to be motor racing, specifically sports car racing with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). I own a 2012 Ford Mustang (of course)  GT V8 that is prepared to Touring 2 specifications that I drive in road racing competition.  With help from Ford and Hoosier, I compete in the Western Division of the SCCA Majors championship "Where the Best Come to Race".  Each year I compete in the SCCA National Championships, having visited Ohio, Kansas and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.   My 2014 Mustang GT (in school colors, also of course) street car is my daily driver and is beloved by the Henry Ford students it represents. I’m proud to be Henry Ford’s principal and will continue to work to improve our school. Stop by to bench race or to chat, I’m not hard to find.
