Born and raised in India, I moved to California in 2000. I obtained my Masters in Public Policy from UCLA. After volunteering for a combined total of sixteen years at my kids’ schools and working as an instructional aide and a substitute teacher for five years, I decided to be a teacher. I completed my Teaching Credential Program at San Jose State University.
I have two wonderful boys. My older son is a freshman at UC Santa Barbara and my younger son is a 7th grader. I love to read, cook, hike, travel, and spend time with family and friends. I am a vegetarian and absolutely enjoy Thai, Mexican, and Indian cuisine.
