About Me

-
My name is John Emig, known to the students as "Mr. Emig" or "Coach E." This is my first academic year at Kennedy and only my third year of teaching in California. Before accepting my exciting new role at Kennedy, I was Sea Crest School's Lower School PE Teacher in Half Moon Bay. I am originally from Pennsylvania, from a small town just west of Philadelphia. Definitely a huge E-A-G-L-E-S... EAGLES fan! In addition to being certified to teach Health and Physical Education, I am also a certified personal trainer, lifeguard instructor, and athletic coach for several sports. I currently coach the Sequoia HS boys lacrosse team. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, dog and friends; outdoor recreation; playing team adult sports and fitness training; and, exploring the west coast in my free time.
It is my pleasure to learn more about your student(s) interests and goals, their current level of health and physical literacy, and to challenge them with opportunities to improve their wellness status through fun, relevant, age-appropriate instruction and activities. I am thrilled to join the Cougar community and look forward to engaging with your student(s) as they together strive for individual and interpersonal success.
