    About Me
    Email: bqbaird@rcsdk8.net

    Hi, I'm Bret Baird! I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade PE. I'm in Room A-1.
I taught at MIT from 1988 to 1991
Kennedy from 1991 to  June 2013
Clifford from August 2013 to December 2014
I have been back at Kennedy since January 2015
I helped get the Gary Beban Gym built at Kennedy and started the Hall of Fame.
I got the Heisman Trophy for Kennedy and helped raise approximately $100,000 for Kennedy
(Rock wall, golf clubs, high jump pit, etc.)
I have traveled around the world and have been in the White House's Oval office.
I have swam on the back of a giant Manta ray in Bora Bora Tahiti.  I swam with Whalesharks in the Philippines.  I biked over 400 miles across Iowa, with up to 20,000 other riders, twice.

Parents can call me anytime at 255-2623.  If I am not available at the time,  I will get back to them within 24 hours.
I want for all students what I want for my own 3 children - to live a long healthy, happy life and for all of their dreams to come true.  But it takes some work.  I look forward to meeting with parents to insure their child gets the best education possible.

Activities in my class include:  Rockwall, High Jump, Scooterboards, Boogerball, Football, Basketball, Track, Hockey, Soccer, Health and Fitness training, Track Cooperative Games and much more.

My course focuses on good sportsmanship, teamwork and conditioning.  Students are expected to treat  other people, equipment, and facilities with respect.  Students are expected to use good sportsmanship and are not allowed to bully or tease other students at any time.  Students will be rewarded with verbal praise and encouragement and, when possible, a positive call home.  All students are expected to change clothes for class. All students are expected to change into Kennedy Physical Education shirts and black shorts or sweats.

Students grades come from daily participation, attitude and effort points.  Students must be on time, participate fully and behave properly to receive all their daily points.
Our Class Motto is: Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Smarter, Healthier, Happier!   I look forward to working with you to make you child the best possible version of themselves they can be.
