I was born and raised in Redwood City, CA, studied Child Development at Sacramento State, moved back to the bay area after college and got my teaching credential.

I started my teaching career as a long-term substitute and fell in love with it. I started teaching in Redwood City in 2003 and began teaching second grade at Orion in 2004. I love seeing the “light bulb” go off on student’s faces when they learn something new or put things together. I enjoy showing my students they can love reading, new sign language signs and what can be done with computers. A couple of years ago I went back to school and got my masters in reading. I enjoy applying any new research to our current teaching practices.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling to new places, reading, walking and dancing. I look forward to a wonderful school year.
