Welcome to Redwood City School District!
Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area's mid-Peninsula, RCSD schools offer innovative, integrative, and interactive approaches to learning, ensuring that your child receives a high-quality education to be well-prepared for high school, college, and careers.
Registration is the first step to enroll in RCSD. Whether you live within the attendance zone of the Redwood City School District or you live in a neighboring district looking to attend one of RCSD's many award-winning innovative programs and schools, you must begin by completing a registration form to provide the district with the information needed to enroll your child.
Families whose neighborhoods are Fair Oaks Community School, Hawes Elementary School, John Gill Elementary School or Selby Lane School should use this guide as these four schools do not operate as neighborhood schools.
How to Apply to Transfer to a Different School
When it comes to the education of your child, RCSD offers you options. RCSD parents have a choice to transfer to any of the school district's award-winning programs and schools. If you wish to transfer to a school or program other than your neighborhood school, please fill out the Schools of Choice Transfer Application after completing your registration form.
*Order of Enrollment for Neighborhood Schools
1. Students are guaranteed placement in their neighborhood school if space is available at the time they register.
2. Students are enrolled in the order in which they register.
3. If the neighborhood school does not have space at the time of enrollment, students are assigned to another school.
*Twins will be placed together, according to the priority above. Twins who are assigned a random eligibility number will be placed according to the number of the twin with the highest place on the waiting list.
