RCSD Superintendent Dr. John Baker has announced the appointment of Ms. Tina Mercer as Roosevelt School’s new principal due to current Principal Dr. Rosemary Wood accepting the promotion of Assistant Director of the Department of Special Education. Ms. Mercer is a veteran RCSD educator who taught for many years at Orion Alternative Elementary School.
Roosevelt has received the 2017 SMCRA Celebrate Literacy Award for the Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parent Workshops.

They visited classrooms in the STEAM and Mandarin Immersion programs on the John Gill campus as well as Kennedy Middle School and learned about the district's focus on equity in access to education, the sophisticated technology integration across content areas, enrichment opportunities, expertise in English language learning, and the innovative creation opportunities to make learning visible.
RCSD’s classrooms represent the Bay Area’s global workforce as its students speak more than 35 different languages at home including Arabic, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

California law requires that the District form a District Advisory Committee, also referred to as a 7/11 Committee, to advise the Board of Trustees in the use of real property no longer needed for school purposes.
Mr. Kyle Brumbaugh, a former teacher, joined RCSD in late November from Foothill College where he served as the Krause Center for Innovation’s Director of Professional Learning Networks.
