RCSD Superintendent Dr. John Baker has announced the appointment of Ms. Tina Mercer as Roosevelt School’s new principal due to current Principal Dr. Rosemary Wood accepting the promotion of Assistant Director of the Department of Special Education. Ms. Mercer is a veteran RCSD educator who taught for many years at Orion Alternative Elementary School.
The award honors the district's work with its community schools, which is a national research-based model designed to close the achievement and equity gap in underserved communities.
